Why Action for Children?
Working here is more than a job. Everyone in the Action for Children family is passionate about protecting and supporting children. It's the sense of purpose that drives us every single day. Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable children's lives.
A bit about the role
Action for Children Guernsey provides a broad range of unique and innovative services for young people aged 13 to 25 years old who are experiencing difficulties in relation to accommodation, employment and seeks to specifically address drug and alcohol issues preventatively, directly and by signposting on to more specialist services.
We are looking for a Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Education advisor to work closely with primary and secondary schools in the Bailiwick to deliver education to Children and Young people in the Islands schools and other community settings. In total you will teach a Bailiwick child 24 times during their education journey, working with teaching staff and other stakeholders to find creative and educative ways to make sure young people are informed of the risks of substance use.
Specifically, the Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Education advisor will provide peer-led and adult-led education in schools within whole-school healthy lifestyle approaches.
