About the role:

The Crisis Intervention Worker will be working closely with individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis and/or episodes of psychological/emotional distress. The main purpose of the role is to assist individuals through appropriate person-centred interventions to be able to address and help de-escalate their immediate crisis experience.

Listening to individuals in a crisis will be a key aspect of your role and involves focusing, observing, understanding, and responding with empathy, genuineness, respect, acceptance, non-judgment, and sensitivity.

About you:

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

● Previous experience working in the mental health field, with experience of supporting people to be in control of their lives either in a paid or voluntary capacity.

● Knowledge and understanding of the social determinants that can lead to poor mental health.

● A good working knowledge and understanding of current safeguarding legislation.

● Extensive knowledge of the local community within which you are working.

● Excellent communication and team working skills and the ability to effectively utilise the technology available.

● Good knowledge of both Microsoft Word and Outlook.

● The ability to work flexibly including evenings and weekend shift patterns.

The Talking Space Service operates from 5pm to 11pm seven days a week throughout the year. Employees will work on a rota basis in our Erdington location.

The Recovery House is a brand new, exciting and innovative service for Birmingham Mind and is an opportunity to create a flagship standard of support and care for those in mental health crisis. The Recovery House is commissioned by the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust and is part of their Urgent Care pathway. Working closely with the Recovery House Team, the role is pivotal to the effective and safe delivery of the service.

About the role

The role of Recovery Support Worker will work as part of a team in our regulated services and is an important role for the delivery of recovery-based and prevention services within Birmingham Mind. The role will be central to the smooth running of the 24/7 service provided by Recovery House.

You will support the Waking Night team of Recovery Support Workers in providing a continuous and safe delivery of support, always ensuring high quality and person-centred care. Ensuring that compliance and adherence to CQC standards is upheld and provide appropriate information to managers. You will work in a person-centred way alongside colleagues an NHS clinical partners to de-escalate mental health crisis and help service users to return home and be pivotal in the provision of a welcoming, calm and safe environment.

The Recovery Support Worker will support the team in mobilising the service and work in a way that conforms with the expectations of the CQC, NHS and Birmingham Mind standards. You will take an active part in all appropriate meetings and create and implement service user assessments and support practices.

About you

You will need to be skilful in quickly developing strong relationships with users of the service and able to support the de-escalation of crisis and the provision of a calm and supportive environment; delivering person centred interventions.

We are looking for someone who experience in delivering services in a CQC regulated residential or supported living environment, who has experience of working in partnership with key stakeholders and partner organisations. You will be knowledgeable in and committed to the “Recovery Model "of mental health support and be experienced in delivering person centred care. You will be able to provide a caring and compassionate care to service users, with the ability to provide and maintain a high-quality environment at short notice.

This role will involve working on a rota, including some evenings and weekends.

You will work closely with a range of statutory and other third sector providers including housing providers to find appropriate housing and community support networks to aid successful recovery.

The Helpline is open 7 days per week with a rolling rota consisting of shifts from 9am to 5pm and 3pm to 11pm, including weekends. Please note that this is an on-site role at the specified location. Remote working is not available for this position.

We are a leading provider of mental health services in Birmingham and the West Midlands.

As a Helpline Worker, you will be providing support for those experiencing mental health difficulties through Birmingham Mind’s helpline service. The helpline supports people living in the Birmingham and Solihull area.

The support offered will include (but is not exclusive to), receiving calls, emails and webchat from people who may be experiencing crisis, people looking for more general assistance and information about services, carers looking for advice and services, and other community support services. You will provide appropriate referrals and signposting information about Birmingham Mind services and external partner agencies.

You will be working in a community focused way to ensure that statutory and local organisations are aware of the provision, ensuring that you retain close and effective links with them as well as keeping up to date with any pertinent changes to local provision.

The helpline is a 7 day a week service from 9am -5pm and 3pm -11pm. Under the direction of the service manager, you will support the running of the service in line with contractual requirements, Birmingham Minds Vision and Values, its operating Policy and Procedures, and any relevant legal requirements.

You will have at least 6 months’ experience in the mental health field, with experience of supporting people to be in control of their lives. The MOD Project Manager is responsible for the general oversight and operational management of designated Ministry of Defence (MOD) project sites, ensuring the effective delivery of conservation objectives, contractual commitments, and habitat management programmes.

Acting as the primary day-to-day point of contact for the MOD and Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), the postholder will maintain strong relationships with MOD and DIO representatives, contractors, partners, and other key stakeholders. Along with the Senior Estates Manager, they will provide oversight of site operations and ensure that management activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with organisational and contractual requirements.

The postholder will be expected to balance hands-on operational delivery with strategic planning, ensuring MOD project sites are managed effectively, within budget, and in line with organisational objectives.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll coordinate the review and implementation of management plans across MOD sites, ensuring that conservation objectives are achieved while meeting the requirements of Countryside Stewardship agreements, the MOD training estate and any other contractual obligations. You’ll also be responsible for the procurement, supervision, and performance management of contractors, ensuring work is completed to the required standards and within agreed budgets and timescales.

You’ll lead major infrastructure and capital works programmes across MOD sites, overseeing projects from planning and development through to delivery and completion. The postholder will retain practical management responsibility for those sites and activities not delegated to the Reserves Officer or Heathland Officer.

You’ll also be responsible for direct line management of the Reserves Officer (MOD North) and Heathland Officer (MOD North), providing leadership, support, and performance oversight to ensure the successful delivery of site-based activities.

In addition, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day welfare of livestock on MOD sites, ensuring high standards of animal husbandry and seek support from the HIWWT Grazing Team where issues arise beyond basic livestock knowledge. As part of the management programme, you’ll be expected to feed into grazing plans and ensuring compliance of livestock whilst grazing MOD sites.

You will be a highly motivated and self-directed individual with a practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving. You will have the ability to build credibility and develop positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Working collaboratively with colleagues, partners and communities, you will lead initiatives that engage and mobilise diverse audiences, inspire and support community-led action, build grassroots influence and develop future environmental leaders, all as part of a coherent strategy that ensures it delivers greater than “the sum of its parts”.

You will lead the implementation of ‘Wilder’, The Wildlife Trusts’ shared new Communications Strategy, providing strategic oversight for evidence-led communications and brand management, creative content and public relations that strengthen our relevance, influence and reputation among diverse audiences, and drive impact, engagement and income generation.

As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will help shape our strategic direction, influence organisational culture, and strengthen the impact of community-led action and communications across the federation of Wildlife Trusts. As Director of Communications, Campaigning and Communities, you will provide strategic leadership across a talented and diverse team spanning content creation, social media management and media relations, campaigning, youth-led leadership and community organising. Working alongside 46 independent Wildlife Trusts that form our federated movement, you will help shape and deliver our shared vision that inspires and enables a cross section of society to be proactive about championing nature and its benefits to society.

You will champion collaboration, co-creation, youth influence and community organising, supporting communities across the UK to make change happen for nature in ways that are locally relevant, accessible and impactful. You will also lead the development of The Wildlife Trusts’ voice, brand, reputation and storytelling, ensuring our communications engage diverse audiences, inspire action and remain audience-led, inclusive and aligned with our values.

You will understand the power of authentic storytelling and lived experience, promoting meaningful representation while avoiding tokenism. Through your leadership, you will help grow a confident and diverse network of advocates for nature.

Working closely with colleagues, partners and stakeholders, you will help influence local and national policy by strengthening understanding of nature’s role in addressing societal challenges. You will champion access to nature, promote nature-based solutions and support efforts to improve health, wellbeing and resilience, particularly in communities with limited access to green space.

About Us

About You

As Head of Project Management Office (PMO), you will help our fast-growing organisation bridge the gap between strategy and execution. This is a greenfield opportunity, and you will be responsible for designing, scaling, and executing a right-sized, organisation-wide project delivery function. You will oversee an interesting investment and grant-funded portfolio, coordinate complex strategic programmes, and directly manage a core team of project managers.

Working closely with the Executive Office and Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure that strategic initiatives are prioritised, sequenced and delivered effectively so that benefits are realised and change is successfully embedded into business as usual. You will establish the PMO as a trusted centre of excellence, supporting confident decision making, disciplined delivery and transparency across RSWT and The Wildlife Trusts.

As Head of the Project Management Office, you will have a proven track record of leading portfolio, programme and delivery management functions in a complex organisation. Ideally, you will have experience of designing and scaling a PMO or delivery function from the ground up – you will be comfortable setting up lean, agile project governance structures which respect our charity’s culture while driving operational maturity. You will be confident using portfolio and delivery management tools and reporting approaches and are skilled at turning insight into action ready information for leaders.

You will be able to communicate complex information clearly, provide constructive challenge, and build trust with stakeholders across the organisation.

As a leader, you will have experience developing and leading high performing teams, fostering collaboration, strategic thinking and continuous improvement. You will be committed to building organisational capability — coaching others, championing good practice and creating communities of practice that strengthen delivery confidence over time.
