Children’s Heart Surgery Fund

The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) is an award-winning regional charity supporting children and adults, and their families, born with congenital heart defects across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. The charity was established in 1988 to support the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit at Leeds Children’s Hospital, which treats more than 20,000 patients each year. The Charity supports the Leeds Congenital Heart service by providing the funding and resources to support: • The Heart, by providing revolutionary medical equipment and funding training for the medical employees within the congenital heart service. • The Mind, by creating a restful environment on the wards and funding play and distraction equipment. • The Family, by contributing towards living expenses, offering accommodation to parents and giving exceptional grants. • The Future, by funding research, clinical posts and projects.
