  • Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
  • Contract type: 8 month Fixed Term Contract / Attachment
  • Location: Office Base is Salford. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.

Freelancers are eligible to apply for an internal role if they are on a Worker Contract and they have worked continuously for 6 months. BBC Children's and Education is looking for an experienced Producer to lead a team taking BBC Bitesize Schools Tour onto the road to deliver careers advice and inspiration to 125,000 secondary school pupils. The tour will take in schools across the UK and deliver 4 x hour long sessions in each school, hosted by BBC Talent, and will feature a panel of inspiring guests from a variety of industries and job roles who will change perceptions, inspire ambition and celebrate aspiration.

Main Responsibilities


The successful applicant will be responsible for the scheduling and the delivery of the Bitesize Schools Tour in secondary schools across the UK. You will be responsible for managing a large team on location and in the office.
You will have the ability to plan ahead for all likely eventualities and suggest/implement, on agreement, solutions to logistical and editorial problems. Although this is a more ‘office’ based role, you will be required to travel on location too. This includes working away from home for a number of weeks. Therefore, the successful candidate must hold a UK driving licence.

Are you the right candidate?


  • You will be passisonate about creating and delivering content and activities that inspire young audiences, and an ability to plan and stage events with genuine audience takeout.
  • You would have demonstrable knowledge and an understanding of ways to present content that works for teenage audiences.
  • You will have managed a team to successfully deliver a project to hit its target including extensive line management experience, motivating teams to work collaboratively
  • You will be a strong communicator with experience of influencing and managing relationships with external partners and stakeholders
  • You will have demonstrable experience of working with children,safeguarding and health and safety.
  • Experience of dealing with talent and agents

Please note this project will involve working in the office and on location across multiple locations in the UK. It also requires a relevant DBS check to be undertaken by the BBC at the appropriate level, at the point of offer of a contract of employment. Drivers license mandatory
