With over one hundred million passenger journeys each year, we carry people to over 280stations in the Southwest, from Cornwall and South Wales to London, passing through beautiful country and some of the UK's top tourist destinations.

What is the job?

This role is a sales-based role with high levels of customer service. You'll give a professional, friendly welcome to our customers, providing assistance and information whilst you work onboard. No two days are the same. One day you may be offering the at-seat trolley service to customers in standard class, selling a wide selection of refreshments and snacks, and the next you will be serving the GWR complimentary range to customers in first class. You'll be supporting your team and ensuring the safety of passengers and your colleagues.

What are the responsibilities?

• To promote and sell GWR products onboard trains by engaging with customers to ensure they have the journey they deserve.
• To offer a complimentary trolley service for customers travelling in first class
• To sell refreshments to customers travelling in standard class
• To be an ambassador for GWR, following our vision and values to provide the best customer service.
• To adhere to all GWR safety principles, providing the safest possible journey for everyone.
• To maintain a clean, hygienic and pleasant environment

Skills and experience required:

• Customer service experience within a sales background
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to work both alone and as part of a team

What will I need?

• A passion for providing the best customer experience
• The ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and bank holidays
• To be proactive and able to use your initiative
• To be friendly, cheerful, and approachable

Basic starting salary is £23,275 rising to £30,450 after your probationary period.

What else do I need to know?

You must live within one hour's travelling time from the station.

There are very early starts and late finishes, so you must be able to travel to and from the station at times when there is no public transport.
