Engineer (Hydraulic Systems)



Location: Solihull, Birmingham  



Salary: £35,000 -£45,000 per annum

You will be involved in hydraulic component selection, hydraulic circuit design and supporting the production team with hydraulic issues. You will also be involved in preliminary BOM Maintenance and the standardisation of designs across product families. Where applicable, you will also be involved in pneumatic component changes and testing. 



You will be the go-to person for care and maintenance of Whale driveline and hydraulic designs! 



What you will be doing:  





  • Supporting with producing technically compliant hydraulic schematics and supporting engineering documentation that meet both application and customers' requirements  




  • Supporting to manage hydraulic systems for key projects 




  • Development testing, design validation, commissioning and fault-finding activities 




  • Specifying and selecting hydraulic components and equipment to meet the design requirements 




  • Support with hydraulic system expertise to the rest of the business (Production, Technical, Service, Sales and Parts) 




  • Comply with compliance with Quality Management system and health and safety legislation  





 



We are looking for someone who is / has: 





  • NVQ Level 3 / HNC level education in an engineering or technical subject 




  • Hydraulic training at the NPFC or Bath University (or equivalent)  




  • Experience in designing and developing and implementing hydraulic systems into mobile equipment  




  • Knowledge of various hydraulic systems, pump and proportional controls 




  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure  




  • Good general knowledge of pneumatics, electronics, water and vacuum systems would be an advantage
