Clearing & Payments department supports the Bank in a back office capacity, supporting the Bank’s operational processing for various banking product, working with retail branches and front office teams to support London Branch and Subsidiary customers. As a Junior Assistant - Clearing, you will be responsible for day-to-day processing of Financial Markets Support, ensuring the settlement life cycle of all products by assisting with the accurate and efficient operational processing of a multitude of transactions as well as collaborating with other teams and departments to resolve a variety of transactional queries in accordance with the Bank’s policies, SLA’s and relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in Euroclear/Easyway settlements
  • Collect statistical information for reporting, MI and MTM purposes
  • Investigate and resolve operational and payment issues
  • When required, assist with the testing and implementation of new systems and system upgrades
  • Escalate any unidentified operational risks
  • Uphold high customer satisfaction standards
  • Regularly review, revise and suggest updates to business procedures
  • Assist with regulatory reporting
  • Assist with projects when required
  • Complete tasks and duties as assigned by Management to ensure the continued delivery of Bank of China business developments and growth

Requirements

  • Degree educated preferably in Business or relevant qualification
  • Experienced in SWIFT Payment Messages both MT and MX (ISO20022) is preferable
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets products and processes
  • Knowledge of Banking products and associated risks
  • A quick learner and adaptable to change
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
