About the role

The UCL School of Pharmacy is the oldest Pharmacy School in the UK and joined UCL in 2012. The Library specialises in the core pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacognosy and pharmacology, but also covers the wider biomedical spectrum. Our team takes pride in providing the best possible user experience throughout our library and study spaces.

We are looking for a Library Assistant to join our daytime team on a permanent basis (Monday – Friday, 36.5 hours (1FTE).

Duties and responsibilities
The postholder will provide first-line support for enquiries and library activities, both in-person on site and virtually as required through Library Services’ various online tools and platforms.

They will provide clerical support for all library functions and facilities, with a focus on customer-facing services, as directed by the Deputy Librarian. Please see the job description for more details.

This is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for regular remote working.

About you

Applicants will need to have 5 GCSEs (grade A* - C) or equivalent. They should have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with a wide range of people as well as experience of customer service work. Experience or knowledge of inter-library loans and document supply processes is desirable.
