Are you an EDI Practitioner with a passion to make a difference? How would you feel about joining the largest employer in Wales, leading our EDI strategy?

You will be part of a forward-thinking, ambitious team, dedicated to caring for the workforce and enhancing the NHS as an exceptional place to work. This role sits in the Organisational Development team and there will be plenty of support from the OD and EDI Lead, who champions the development of people and promotes a positive culture.

First and foremost, we are looking for someone with a passion for ED&I.

Previous experience and a practical understanding of EDI principles and legislation are both essential for this role. Due to the scale and complexity of the health board, we are looking for someone who has considerable experience working in an EDI role (or HR role with a specific focus on EDI). This experience does not have to be within the NHS, but an appreciation and understanding of how to transfer skills and knowledge into an environment like the NHS is essential.

The ability to challenge, influence and negotiate is important for this role and to interpret complex information and data, applying equality law. Skills in report writing and presenting are also important.

CTM hosts numerous staff networks including our BAME, LGBTQ+ and disabled networks, and we work in partnership with our communities to create diverse entry opportunities to CTM.

What does our EDI Lead role involve?

Promoting, championing and leading Equality, diversity and inclusion work programmes across CTM UHB to ensure equality for staff, patients and service users.

You will support our strategic equality plan, focusing on compliance and legislation alongside behavioral and cultural change related to EDI.

Importantly, this post holder will work with colleagues across the health board, providing leadership and guidance to ensure that strategies and interventions are implemented.

You will identify potential barriers and work creatively to provide sustainable solutions. This will require influencing and challenging when needed, to ensure that interventions are applied.

The post holder will be tasked with developing a robust monitoring framework and act as a key contact for all EDI issues.

You will design, develop and advise on the implementation of an equality, diversity and inclusion strategy leading to improved patient and staff outcomes and experience

Develop, consult and publish the Strategic Equality Plan, reports such as the annual equality report and the Equality Impact Assessment (EIA)

You will also run the EDI networks mentioned above.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
