  • Salary: Up to £32,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
  • Contract type: 9 month Fixed Term Contract / Attachment
  • Location: Office Base is Salford. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.

Freelancers are eligible to apply for an internal role if they are on a Worker Contract and they have worked continuously for 6 months. If they have worked for less than 6 months continuously or have a break of 3 weeks or more between engagements, they must seek Divisional HR approval to apply for an internal role prior to submitting an application.

Job Introduction


BBC Education is looking for researchers to be a key part of the team leading the digital development of Bitesize.
This is an exciting time to join BBC Education as we continue to develop the Bitesize learning platform for students across the UK, focusing on audience need and a tailored learning experience.

Main Responsibilities


As part of the Education Product Development team you will develop, pilot, and assess new ways of delivering personalisation to students across the UK.


You will work closely with editorial colleagues and teams in Product Group to deliver increased interactivity and personalised experiences for students aged four to 16-years-old.


You will have great communication skills, be able to work to deadlines on varied tasks and work well and collaborate with others.


You will understand the challenges and opportunities of new technology in developing digital platforms and the importance of audience data and insights to inform decisions.

  • Experience of digital content creation
  • Understanding of young audiences and their preferences and expectations of digital products
  • Experience of working as part of a team to share best practice and training
  • Ability to generate great ideas to help deliver digital content
  • Understanding of the rapidly evolving digital marketplace and how it is changing user experience
