Soulbury Scale B5 - B8 (£60,160 - £63,863) plus Inner London allowance (£3595) and up to 3 SPA points

Permanent full time (35 hours) posts + opportunity for maternity cover

The Royal Greenwich Educational Psychology & Wellbeing Service (EP&WS) has recently expanded and are offering the opportunity for reflective and resourceful senior educational psychologists to support our hard-working, friendly and ambitious team of EPs, assistant EPs, EPs in training, counsellors, restorative approaches facilitators and business support staff.

As part of the service management team, you will contribute to the strategic planning and leadership of the service and within the Local Authority (LA). Your allocation will realistically reflect the time needed for senior duties to be fulfilled, whilst also offering opportunities for work with a more developmental focus. You will provide clinical supervision and line management to a number of EPs and represent the service in LA processes and initiatives (including multi-agency panels). There will be opportunities to carve areas of interest amongst the senior team. This might include:

  • Working collaboratively with local partners, including the Inclusion and Youth Offending Services.

  • Leading on initiatives to increase engagement with parents/ carers and the wider community, including supporting the delivery of Family Hub projects.

  • Promoting service wide anti-racism initiatives and contributing to wider Children's Services Tackling Structural Racism (TSR) workstreams.

  • Promoting the service wellbeing offer.

  • Supporting the delivery of new initiatives, such as the Mediated Learning Support Approach (MeLSA) programme for schools.

  • Leading on service CPD.

At Royal Greenwich, you will benefit from:

  • A supportive senior leadership team who are committed to team wellbeing.

  • Working alongside colleagues who place the best interests of children and young people are at the heart of what they do, as reflected in our recent Area SEND Inspection (https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/44/80495).

  • Excellent administrative support.

  • An annual service CPD programme and individual CPD time.

  • Protected time for clinical supervision (separate to line management), including regular peer consultation groups.

  • Centrally located accommodation.

  • Excellent transport links - including the Elizabeth Line.

  • Systems and equipment to support remote/hybrid working.

  • Free parking space and car mileage allowance.

  • Reimbursement of HCPC registration fees.

We would like to invite applicants who:

  • Are interested in working at a strategic level to support service delivery and bring about positive outcomes for children, young people and families within the LA.

  • Are able to creatively apply psychology in a range of settings, within the context of a consultation model of service delivery.

  • Value working relationships with colleagues within the team, across Children's Services and within the settings that they work.

  • Share our service commitment to anti-racist practice.

Applications are welcome from experienced HCPC registered EPs with a successful track record of working as an educational psychologist in a range of contexts.

For an informal discussion, please contact Sinead Neal (Principal Educational Psychologist & Strategic Lead for Emotional Health and Wellbeing) Roz Goodwin (Senior Educational Psychologist) or Rachel O'Connor (Senior Educational Psychologist)
