We’re looking for an Assistant Shipping Coordinator to join us! 



You’ll be responsible for the provision and despatch of internal/external customer orders using the 3PL transport provider and ensuring that shipments are arranged at the correct security level and that all control measures are in place. Further to this your reconcile monthly transport invoices and freight accruals and despatch orders off the ERP system, raising customer invoices on SAP ByD.  



We’re looking for those that can be the primary contact for all shipping matters in Westhoughton and assist the shipping coordination team.  



Main Tasks: 





  • Input details into the Shipping Log to provide notice of collections to site.  




  • Arrange security escorts and transport compliant with the required security level for each shipment.  




  • Communicate shipment details with other sites, notifying delays and changes in advance.  




  • Responsible for booking secure waste (Level 1 and CViT) collections. 




  • Work closely with planning, sales, security auditors and packing to achieve OTIF.  




  • Produce, review and update SOPs for shipping. 




  • Manage own areas of the electronic filing system, keeping records, documents and folders up to date and accurate. 




  • Consolidation of loads, review shipping options and costs through the 3PL transport provider.  




  • Check and authorise invoice payments monthly, log shipments onto costing spreadsheet. 




  • Plan and book collections in line with the manufacturing plan and customer delivery schedule.  




  • Complete bookings for the global shipment of cylinders, samples and finished goods.  





Key qualifications, skills and experience required   





  • Ideally, proven knowledge of Stock Control management of finished goods.  




  • Ideally, Experience of shipping of products globally using road, sea and air transport (known consignor knowledge)  




  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel, Word, ERP. Invoicing and freight accruals using SAP ByD or a similar system would also be advantageous.  




  • Excellent numeracy skills.  




  • Experience in busy fast paced manufacturing environment desirable.  




  • Excellent communication skills.  




  • Flexible and adaptable.
