Azure Data Engineer 



Location: Birmingham (Hybrid) 



Salary: £43,527 per annum 



Contract Type: Permanent, full time (35 hours per week) 



Closing Date: 9th June 2025

We are seeking a self motivated, enthusiastic and proactive Azure Data Engineer to join our growing team. This pivotal role will be responsible for designing, building, and managing data pipelines and solutions on our Microsoft Azure cloud platform. You’ll be ensuring our data is accessible, secure, and optimised for analysis, playing a crucial part in supporting both departmental and Trust-wide strategic goals. 



As an Azure Data Engineer, your key responsibilities will include 



· Design and Build Data Pipelines: Develop scalable, secure pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, and Synapse Analytics. 



· Transform and Integrate Data: Consolidate structured and unstructured data from various systems into analytics-ready formats. 



· Manage Data Storage: Optimise storage solutions such as Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and Data Lake Storage. 



· Ensure Governance and Security: Maintain data integrity and compliance with standards and regulations. 



· Support Analysis and Visualisation: Enable business insights through secure, well-maintained data pipelines and support Power BI semantic model improvements. 



· Automate and Orchestrate Processes: Use Logic Apps and Function Apps to streamline and automate data workflows. 



· Maintain and Enhance Data Warehouse: Continuously optimise our Azure-based data warehouse to meet evolving organisational needs. 



· Apply Best Practices: Use version control (e.g., Azure DevOps) and reusable coding practices to ensure maintainability and support. 



· Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with analysts, IT professionals, and stakeholders to understand needs and develop effective solutions. 



What We’re Looking For 



Experience 



· At least 12 months of hands-on experience as an Azure Data Engineer. 



· Strong experience with Azure data tools including Data Factory, Synapse, and Data Lake. 



· Competence with Power BI and other visualisation platforms. 



· Familiarity with digital systems and data extraction techniques. 



Skills 



· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 



· Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills. 



· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. 



· Exceptional attention to detail.
