Deputy Communications and Engagement Manager

£46,857 to £49,890
Fixed term 1 year / full-time
Location: Woolwich and some flexible home working

It's the Royal Borough of Greenwich's mission to make sure its residents have access to a safe and secure home that meets their needs, however for many this remains a significant challenge. More than half of the 289,100 residents in our borough rent privately or from social landlords - such as us.

We're looking for an experienced communications professional to lead on communications for the housing and safer communities' teams at the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

You'll be passionate about making housing better for social housing tenants, leaseholders and private renters and will help us develop and deliver proactive and reactive communications strategies and campaigns that help us to meet the standards set out in the government's new Social Housing Regulation Bill.

You will also have a good understanding of stakeholder management and experience of advising senior leaders, as well as a strong understanding of how the media works to protect and strengthen the Council's reputation through the press and social media.

We offer a work environment which is stimulating, fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high-profile organisation.

Our communities are diverse and we want our workforce to reflect and respect this diversity and bring richness, productivity and innovation.

We're based in Woolwich, but the role will comprise a mix of office and home working. In addition, we offer a comprehensive range of staff benefits such as 28 days leave a year plus bank holidays, and an excellent local government pension scheme and many staff networks.

Interviews will be held the week of the 22 May 2023 at The Woolwich Centre, 35 Wellington Street, SE18 6HQ.

Royal Borough of Greenwich reserves the right to close any vacancy earlier than the advertised closing date should there be a high volume of applications received.
