Electrician x2

Location: Maidstone, Kent

Salary: £41,669 Per Annum

Are you an experienced Electrician looking for a varied role where you can deliver high-quality repairs and installations across domestic housing stock?

'It is a great time to join Golding as we are an efficient, local, visible and listening housing provider, providing sustainable homes and communities.' We have an established track record for building quality homes and investing in our local communities.

Golding Homes is looking for a skilled and customer-focused Electrician to join its Repairs and Maintenance Electrical team.

What you'll be doing

You’ll install, service and maintain electrical systems and appliances across domestic and commercial properties, ensuring all work meets current Wiring Regulations and is completed to a high standard. You’ll undertake planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose and repair electrical faults, and use appropriate testing and measuring equipment to ensure systems are left safe and fully serviceable.

You’ll take ownership of each job from start to finish, assessing the work required, arranging the appropriate parts and materials, and accurately completing all relevant electrical certification. You’ll record job details, materials and any follow-on work using a handheld device, while ensuring your vehicle stock is maintained and replenished.

This is a customer-facing role, so you’ll communicate clearly with customers when arranging and carrying out work, taking their individual needs into account and explaining what has been completed. You’ll ensure every property is left clean and safe, providing an excellent service throughout the visit. You may also be required to supervise apprentices and support them in working safely and to the expected standard.

More about you. What can you bring?

  • A recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification, such as an NVQ Level 3 or relevant City & Guilds certificate

  • 2391 Test and Inspection qualification or equivalent qualification

  • A strong working knowledge of current IEE Wiring Regulations

  • Good experience within the building construction industry, including domestic installation experience within housing

  • Strong electrical fault-finding, repair, installation, testing and measuring skills

  • The ability to interpret work instructions, drawings and schematic diagrams

  • A good understanding of relevant health and safety requirements

  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as effectively as part of a team

  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the stock area

  • The ability to work at height, in confined spaces and in varying working conditions

  • Flexibility to participate in an out-of-hours emergency rota where required

  • Willingness to undertake a Basic Disclosure check

When and where you'll be doing it

You will enjoy a 40 hour working week and earn an annual salary of circa £41,669 dependent upon your knowledge, skills and experience.

Golding Homes have properties throughout Maidstone and the surrounding area. This role will allow you to travel around our properties, meaning no two weeks will be the same! What’s more, you'll become a permanent member of the Golding family, offering you real job security. You will benefit from regular working hours with the chance for overtime as required.

What will you get in return?
