What you'll be doing..

This is an exciting opportunity to join an employee-owned company that values its co-owners and puts people at the heart of the business. With strong values, we believe we are already a great place to work, but we aspire to be world-class. The Employee Engagement Specialist is crucial in helping us achieve this goal.

The role is varied, expect no two days to be the same! You could be starting your day with the Facilities team to brainstorm ideas for an event that you are organising for co-owners, collecting their insight and views from the business, then linking in with Health & Safety to carry out risk assessments. Before lunch you may be running a focus group with the Learning and Development team to shape a Wellbeing Week, that will involve activities and resources which support mental, physical, social and financial wellbeing. The afternoon may be research focused; reaching out to charity partners, finding out about volunteer opportunities that we can share with our co-owners, making sure that they align to our values and co-owner interests.

Experience in designing and delivering creative events is essential, as you'll be responsible for planning and executing roughly 2 company events and several smaller social activities each year. These events will vary in size, but each one should capture our culture and appeal to a wide audience. Equally important is your ability to engage stakeholders, build and maintain strong relationships, and influence others without formal authority.

You'll need a genuine passion for engagement and a clear understanding of its importance in enabling co-owners and contributing to our business's success. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects running simultaneously.

Some of the responsibilities will include:

Events

  • Working to a budget, tracking and processing payments.

  • Design and deliver a calendar of exciting, company-wide co-owner engagement activities and events.

Wellbeing

  • Own the delivery of our wellbeing strategy and programme of wellbeing events.

  • Work closely with key stakeholders, especially in the People Team and Health and Safety Team, to gather input and proactively review the wellbeing strategy.

Giving Back – Charity Partnerships

  • Take ownership of co-owner engagement with our multiple charity and community partnerships.

  • Build and maintain relationships with partner organisations, delivering regular updates and ensuring mutual value.

General

  • Be tuned in, and know what matters to co-owners, ensuring these insights are reflected in our engagement and wellbeing plan.

Skills and experience required

  • Proven 360 accomplishment in designing, organising, delivering, and managing successful events, ideally in a multi-site environment.

  • Experience and genuine enthusiasm in co-owner wellbeing.

  • Demonstrable ability to develop and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to engage effectively with all co-owners and external partners at all levels.

  • Planning, budgeting, and delivering multiple projects from start to successful implementation and taking on board feedback to look at better ways of working going forward.

  • A genuine passion for people and improving the workplace, with infectious enthusiasm and energy.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with co-owners at all levels.

  • Creative thinker with a spark for innovative, on-brand ideas, while being pragmatic and adaptable.

  • Commitment to co-owner engagement, understanding its role in business success.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, able to prioritize and multi-task effectively.

This is a permanent contract, working 40 hours per week. Based on Wash Farm, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0JU

Salary - £30,520 - £37,450 per annum depending on experience.
