About the role



At Joseph Rowntree, we’re now seeking a Finance Systems Owner to be the operational lead for the Civica finance systems - Purchasing and Financials, in the Joseph Rowntree Group. The role will support the 2024 investment in these new systems through leading their maintenance, management, training and continuous improvement.



You’ll work closely with the Empower24 project Executive Director sponsors and Steering Group, JRHT Finance colleagues and multiple stakeholders to deliver the last phase of the project – the Contractor module within the Asset Management team in JRHT.



You’ll be the overarching finance systems lead for all technical, ongoing configuration, maintenance and user access aspects of the Purchasing and Financials systems, including being a champion for embedding changed ways of working across the Group including with housing, asset management and other interfaced systems. You’ll work collaboratively and proactively, ensuring the systems provide for value for money and user centred services, access and reporting and you’ll lead on the ongoing development and refining of key training for the two systems and deliver training, both directly and via ‘train the trainer’ methods.



About you



As our Finance Systems Owner, we’d like you to have demonstrable experience and specialist knowledge of finance systems operating environments, internal structures, administration and implementation at a granular and user level. You’ll have knowledge of accounting and budget management which underpins the financial coding and user structures for the Group and experience of creating and maintaining user-focussed notes and training/reference materials for users.



You’ll have experience of training individuals on systems alongside delivering and embedding ‘train-the-trainer’ training across the Group with experience in planning and managing upgrades and system developments. Able to establish and maintain strong working relationships across diverse teams and with key individuals at all levels in the Group, you’ll have good communications skills including the ability to present complex information in an understandable and accessible way both in person and online to individuals and groups.



With proven ability in working proactively and independently alongside effective time management, you’ll have strong reporting skills, able to present information in a variety of ways to meet audience needs with demonstrable experience in problem-solving, persistence in pursuing solutions to issues and taking a creative approach to both.
