We're looking for an experienced and ambitious Head of Development to lead our development programme and help shape the future of housing across Stockport.
This is a pivotal leadership role where you'll drive the delivery of high quality, sustainable and affordable homes, grow our future development pipeline, and ensure our investment makes a lasting impact on local communities. You'll lead a team of Development Project Managers and work closely with senior leaders, partners, funders and stakeholders to turn strategic ambitions into successful developments.
What you'll be doing
· Leading the delivery and development of our Development Strategy.
· Growing our pipeline through land, acquisition, regeneration and partnership opportunities.
· Ensuring strong governance, financial performance and risk management across the programme.
· Building effective relationships with partners including Stockport Council, Homes England, contractors, developers and consultants.
· Leading and developing a high performing Development Team.
About You
We're looking for a strategic and experienced development professional who can lead complex housing projects and build strong partnerships to deliver real impact.
You will have:
· A degree level qualification, relevant professional qualification or equivalent senior level experience in housing development, property construction, or related discipline.
· The willingness to work towards relevant professional qualifications and training to meet the Regulator of Social Housing's Competence and Conduct Standard.
· Significant experience leading complex housing development or regeneration programmes.
· Strong knowledge of affordable housing development, viability, procurement and contract management.
· Excellent leadership skills, with experience developing and motivating high-performing teams.
· Strong commercial, financial and risk management expertise, with the ability to make sound evidence-based decisions.
· Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders, partners and funders.
