Overview of the Role: 

We are looking for a Head of Learning to join our dynamic and friendly team. This new role sits within our new Learning and Public Engagement division, and will work with schools, young people and adult audiences to build horticultural curiosity, knowledge and skills in our varied audiences.

The Head of Learning is one of five new senior management roles within the division, revised to create a step change in RHS Learning and Public Engagement and to meet the RHS strategy goals. This is an exciting time to be joining the UK’s leading gardening charity, to inspire and empower more people to grow.

As Head of Learning you will be responsible for:

• Leading the planning, direction and development of RHS school, young people and adult informal learning programmes including educational visits to gardens, schools outreach, National Education Nature Parks and informal courses and workshops programmes, in addition to generating new and exciting modes of learning.


• Engaging more young people with growing


• Building and maintaining productive external relationships in the horticultural learning sphere


• Working on UK-wide horticultural education advocacy and policy


• Monitoring and improving programmes


• Safeguarding
