Independent Committee Member of Audit & Risk Committee Cambridge - mix of online and in person meetings

£2,125 per annum + expenses

Fixed Term, 5/6 meetings per year including Board Strategy Meetings

Hundred Houses Society (HHS) is a charitable housing association with a long history of providing affordable housing in and around Cambridge. Founded in 1933, we are proud to be an independent, local organisation. We completed our first development of 100 homes in 1935, and since then we have continued to grow and now own and manage around 1,500 homes.

We are a small, but ambitious housing association, that is passionate about providing safe affordable homes for our customers. We are committed to working in partnership with our residents to ensure we deliver better customer service and focus on services which are important to them.

Our Board is supported by three committees: Audit & Risk Committee, People Committee and Customer Experience Group. In addition, the Finance Working Group and the Investment and Growth Working Group also support the Board.

This role provides the opportunity to not only sit on the Audit & Risk Committee, but also to play an integral part of HHS strategic planning. In this role, you will be part of the HHS Board strategy days.

The Independent Committee Member role on the Audit & Risk Committee would be ideal for a senior finance professional within the social housing sector. You’ll be a qualified accountant with knowledge at a senior level of internal and external audit, strategic management of risk and financial reporting.

It is not essential that applicants have been a Committee Member of a housing organisation before, but applicants should have a commitment to customer service, a knowledge of what makes for good governance, and excellent communication and leadership skills.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about making a difference to the people and communities we serve. We particularly encourage applications from those living and working in the Cambridge area and from people from a wide variety of backgrounds or experience.

If you are interested in this role, we would love to hear from you.

Closing date: 14th November 2024

Interviews are planned on 3rd and 4th December.
