ere at Stonewater, we are now looking for an Insurance Specialist - someone to lead and provide insurance specialist advice and services to the Homes department.



You’ll develop and maintain relationships with our insurers and consultants and review periodically to ensure that external stakeholders including insurers, loss adjusters and consultants continue to provide Stonewater with the services required to protect the Group and to support the business plan objectives, vision and values of the Group.



Ensuring a robust insurance framework is in place to meet legislative requirements and minimise risk to its stakeholders, you’ll communicate effectively and assist in the provision of evidence and documentation required to enable claims to progress and where appropriate are successfully defended, liaising with solicitors as required during defence submissions.



Acting as Insurance Business Partner, you’ll support, influence and drive change. You’ll review trends and analyse data related to Homes claims to inform change and risk management, ensuring that insurance remains an integral part of business strategy, and that the strategy is implemented and embedded. You’ll manage data and reporting, providing a single view of potential and current Homes claims, and track claims liability and identify ‘red flag' or complex cases You’ll present key issues for decision-making and mitigating risks and ensure that policies and procedures that are in place are current and effective and are being followed, reviewing periodically and providing training if necessary.



The ideal candidate will:




  • Have previous experience in insurance management, including working for an insurance underwriter or broker.

  • Have experience with management of insurance policies and relationships with brokers, insurers & lawyers.

  • Have experience in preparing and analysing claims, with practical knowledge of legal aspects of governance in terms of insurance claims.

  • Have organisational skills and able to be an effective internal focal point & champion for change.

  • Have evidence of professional development in the insurance sector.

  • Have insurance & claim management experience and management of legal claims: relationships with brokers, insurers & lawyers.

  • Be a Member of CII (Chartered Insurance Institute), hold a degree in Business Administration/ Risk Management or a related field.

  • Be detailed orientated and take pride in the quality of your work and methodical to tasks.

  • Be able to organise and synchronise activities, resources, and people to achieve common goals, ensuring that tasks are assigned, deadlines are met and communication flows throughout the team.

  • Be a strong communicator, able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of FCA regulations, vulnerable customers, and GDPR.



Appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check, satisfactory references and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
