About the role
Are you a proactive individual looking for a challenging and rewarding role? We’re seeking a Maintenance Operative to deliver a high-quality maintenance service across our buildings and grounds. The successful candidate will carry out repairs, maintain the security of the premises and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
As a key member of the team, you’ll have a broad range of practical maintenance skills and experience, helping to ensure that our grounds and facilities remain safe, well-maintained, legally compliant and welcoming for residents, visitors and colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include carrying out and monitoring a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks, such as clearing drains, basic joinery and bricklaying, minor plumbing works, and where appropriate, minor electrical repairs. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining accurate electronic and paper records of completed work.
About you
You’ll demonstrable skills and experience in delivering grounds and property maintenance work, including basic plumbing, joinery, electrical and decorating tasks. You’ll possess a good understanding of COSHH and HASAWA legislation, with the knowledge and practical ability to apply these requirements in the workplace.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential, with a proven ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels. The role also requires good computer literacy and the ability to maintain accurate electronic records, databases and systems. An understanding of compliance monitoring and its importance within a care or housing environment is essential, alongside the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and organise workloads effectively.
