Neighbourhood Manager
£39,964 per annum
Aylesbury - Hybrid
Permanent, Full Time
Are you an experienced housing professional who is passionate about delivering excellent services and making a meaningful difference to residents and their communities?
At Fairhive, we’re looking for a confident and proactive Neighbourhood Manager to join our Housing Services team. You’ll manage a designated patch of properties, taking responsibility for a broad range of housing and tenancy matters while helping residents sustain their tenancies and feel proud of where they live.
About the role
As a Neighbourhood Manager, you’ll provide a high-quality, resident-focused housing management service. You’ll build positive relationships with residents, respond effectively to complex situations and work closely with colleagues, contractors and external agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes.
You’ll manage day-to-day housing and tenancy matters across your designated patch, including occupancy checks, new tenant visits, successions, assignments, permission requests, tenancy fraud, hoarding and tenancy breaches.
You’ll investigate and resolve standard antisocial behaviour cases, using appropriate prevention and enforcement measures and escalating more complex cases when required. You’ll also respond to safeguarding concerns, working with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure risks are managed and residents receive appropriate support.
Through regular contact with residents, you’ll identify those who may be vulnerable or need additional help. You’ll make referrals to internal support services or relevant external agencies and monitor the support provided to help residents sustain their tenancies.
You’ll organise and lead estate walkabouts, gather feedback, create action plans and monitor progress. You’ll also complete required fire safety and health and safety actions to help maintain safe, well-presented homes and neighbourhoods.
The role will require you to manage challenging conversations and make balanced decisions within relevant policies and procedures, always considering the needs of residents, effective service delivery and value for money. It will also involve lone working and occasional work in challenging environments.
About you
You’ll have a relevant qualification or equivalent experience within housing management or a related area, along with a good understanding of tenancy and neighbourhood management.
You’ll be confident investigating issues, assessing situations and deciding on the most appropriate course of action. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you’ll need to build effective relationships and handle sensitive or difficult conversations professionally.
You’ll also have excellent organisational, administrative, time management and prioritisation skills, good IT knowledge and a commitment to delivering inclusive, resident-focused services.
Above all, you’ll be approachable, organised and resilient, with a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service and improving residents’ experiences.
This role requires a Basic DBS check.
