Reserve Community Outreach Support Worker - Mental Health



£13.45 per hour

This is a flexible, relief role where you'll work on an as-needed basis, providing practical support to customers with enduring mental health conditions. You'll help people build confidence, manage their tenancy and improve their wellbeing while making a real difference in the community.



 



Salary: £13.45 per hour



Contract: 0 hours (reserve / relief role)



Location: Eastfield Road, Peterborough



Your week: You'll work flexible shifts between 8.30am and 8.30pm, Monday to Sunday, including evenings, weekends and 12-hour shifts.

Snapshot of your role




  • Support customers with enduring mental health conditions to live more independently.

  • Provide outreach support and help customers achieve their goals.

  • Create and review support plans and carry out risk assessments.

  • Work with mental health teams and other support organisations to meet customers' needs.

  • Encourage customers to look after their health and take medication as prescribed.

  • Help customers manage their tenancy, including paying rent, looking after their home and being a good neighbour.

  • Keep accurate records and provide a safe, high-quality support service on a reserve, as-needed basis.



 



What you’ll need to thrive in this role




  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above), or equivalent.

  • A full UK driving licence.

  • Experience working in housing and mental health roles.

  • Experience supporting vulnerable people while maintaining professional boundaries.

  • Experience creating support plans and carrying out risk assessments.

  • Good communication and IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Good organisation and attention to detail.

  • A calm, positive and friendly approach, even in challenging situations.

  • A commitment to treating everyone fairly and respecting different backgrounds and needs.



 



Important – Enhanced DBS clearance, a full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK are all essential requirements. We do not provide sponsorship.
