The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is now seeking dynamic and inspiring Sessional Lecturers to teach either of the following:
You’ll teach courses across a range of levels and be a personal tutor on the courses in this curriculum area. The courses are predominantly coursework based and therefore we seek innovative practitioners to design engaging coursework assignments that inspire learners. Following our agreed schemes of work, assessment schedules and student monitoring procedures are an essential component of this work and you’ll also be involved in internal verification activities and organise and take part in external verification.
We’d like you to hold a Level 3 qualification in the hairdressing and/or barbering specialism, have excellent teaching and demonstration skills in hairdressing and/or barbering and have recent demonstrable hairdressing/barbering industrial experience. You’ll hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards), have an awareness of academic quality standards and have the ability to support, motivate and empathise with young learners, including monitoring their progress.
You’ll be hardworking and flexible, have high personal standards and expectations with good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills and good attention to detail. Able to work well under pressure to agreed deadlines, you’ll work effectively as an individual and as a team member to achieve targets and be able to use new technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
