The purpose of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function is to ensure that risk management is used as an effective tool in supporting business decisions, in a consistent and effective manner. ERM considers all types of risks from operational activities to programme/project management and strategy delivery.
Enterprise Assurance is the assurance environment of our business, inclusive of all formal assurance. It establishes a broad framework within which our business can be flexible in its approach to meeting assurance requirements, and provides a simple, systematic, and integrated approach across all activities using the 3 Lines Model of Assurance.
Combined, these seek to ensure that we understand the risk profile of our business and that assurance activities are aligned to this profile.
The purpose of this role is ownership and management of the Enterprise Risk Management System (hosted at Group level) and Enterprise Assurance Management Systems (hosted at local level). This includes data analytics, reporting and the use of AI (Augmented Intelligence) where appropriate to support effective delivery of the Enterprise Risk and Assurance Management Frameworks across the whole of Nuclear Waste Services (NWS).
The role is expected to have strong communication and interpersonal skills to enable the post holder to successfully influence and respectfully challenge colleagues in relation to upholding standards.
This is a brand new role in the company that will sit between the risk & assurance teams while getting involved with exciting duties & projects such as data analytics, reporting, AI and Power BI. Lots of this can be taught as there's tons of support & guidance available.
This is a great role for a technically minded graduate or a candidate who already has similar experience to the below skills & knowledge. Perhaps you have completed some technical research or data analytics works, and you are particularly savvy when it comes to new technology & systems.

We have a critical role in the biggest multi-decade clean-up project in Europe. As part of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) group, we provide permanent answers for nuclear waste.
Nuclear Waste Services builds on the work delivered at the Low-Level Waste Repository (LLWR) site and the Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) programme, maintaining these key activities whilst also adding further essential services for customers in the nuclear energy, defence, industrial, medical, and research sectors. Maintaining and developing this knowledge and experience is key to securing and developing our unique nuclear waste capabilities for the UK and the rest of the world
