The School of Commercial Industries and Access at Kingston College is seeking an experienced Team Leader to join the School Management Group and provide leadership across a number of curriculum programmes. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and student outcomes, leading and coordinating curriculum teams, and contributing to the School’s Quality Self-Assessment and Improvement Plans to ensure targets for recruitment, retention, achievement, success, progression and student satisfaction are met or exceeded.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the School, the Team Leader will support cross-college initiatives, curriculum development and continuous improvement. The role also has a key responsibility for driving the school’s skills agenda by strengthening employer engagement, ensuring employers contribute to programme planning and delivery and providing students with a wide range of meaningful employer interactions, including guest speakers, industry visits and other enrichment activities.

As Team Leader for Barbering, you will lead an innovative, industry-focused curriculum that fosters creativity, technical excellence and professional growth for both students and staff. You will ensure programmes reflect current industry standards and meet the diverse needs of learners. The post holder may also be expected to undertake the role of Designated Safeguarding Officer for the School.

We are seeking an individual with a degree and/or relevant professional qualification, a recognised teaching qualification, and excellent current teaching skills in at least one of the school's curriculum areas. You will have a proven track record of successfully leading and managing FE and/or HE programmes, alongside a strong understanding of current and emerging sector skills needs and their implications for teaching and learning strategies.

You will have a thorough understanding of quality assurance and improvement processes and how these can be used to enhance the student experience with a strong vision for the improvement and development of the curriculum area. With high personal standards and expectations, you will have demonstrable experience of successfully monitoring and supporting ‘at-risk’ learners to achieve or exceed their potential. Able to work well under pressure to agreed deadlines, you will have good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills, with good attention to detail.
