Permanent - Full Time (37.5 hours)



We have a fantastic opportunity for a Planning and Preconstruction Co-ordinator to join our team within Lovell’s Eastern region based at our Leeds office.



Assisting the Planning and Pre-Construction Manager to deliver the timely progression of schemes through bid/concept/planning process, whilst bringing together and moving forward current and new client relationships.



Co-ordinating the work of various disciplines, both internal and external, you’ll be involved with the pre-construction process, promoting an effective information flow between departments to achieve budget and programme.



Main duties will consist of the following:




  • Visit prospective sites prior to preparing feasibility layouts and technical review

  • Review development’s data room information, regarding the location of the project, site access, utilities available, ground conditions, drainage patterns, topography, and any other relevant site information in order to prepare a technical site appraisal and constraints plan

  • Liaise with the internal Lovell teams to produce initial design brief and instruct with an external design team, feasibility layouts, and other required 3rd party designs for the prospective sites as required

  • Optimise development’s design to achieve required square footage, design philosophy/ sales mix and subsequent planning approval. Balance Planning Officer’s expectations with cost-effective designs, materials choices etc where possible.

  • Review scheme design proposals, produced by the external consultants, to ensure quality of information and compliance with Lovell specification, Employer’s Requirements, Building Regulations alongside LPA planning policy needs

  • Obtain fee proposals for the survey works required and issue instructions to support planning application submissions and pre-construction requirements

  • Appoint and manage external architects, engineers, planning consultants and other parties, as required, to ensure preparation of robust planning applications and management of pre-construction site appraisals

  • Assist the Planning and Pre-Construction Manager in ensuring the database and knowledge of current and future planning policies is kept up to date

  • Participate in pre-application negotiations with planning officers prior to the submission of a detailed planning applications

  • Attend and chair project /design meetings where appropriate.

  • Involvement in site bidding process as required

  • Pursuit of value engineering strategies



Candidates should ideally have previous experience within a similar role, in a similar environment, and the ability to communicate confidently and efficiently.
